Pandy’s Picks: March 1 M

by Bob Pandolfo

Bob Pandolfo offers his picks for the $50,000 Pick-4 at Meadowlands Racetrack on March 1, part of the U.S. Trotting Association Strategic Wagering Program.

Meadowlands Pick-4, Races 6-9, Thursday, March 1, 2012

I didn’t hit Saturday night, minus $16, which brings the total to minus $403 for the first 23 nights; I haven’t hit one so far this meet. Tonight’s Pick-4 has a couple of difficult races to handicap, and the races get progressively tougher throughout the four-race sequence tonight.

$1 play: 23/47/48/27 = $16

Analysis:

Race 6: (3) Cameron Chip and (2) Definitelty Mamie both take key drops. I’m fairly confident I can get through the first leg with these two.

Race 7: (7) Marcus Bi takes a big drop. (4) MM’s Lucky Boy won gamely in first start for new barn.

Race 8: (8) Kitty’s Pro Girl broke in last two starts at Yonkers and faced much faster mares in prior start here, changes barns. (4) Rusty’s Martini ships in sharp from Monticello and gets a key driver change to Sears. This is actually a wide open race because Kitty’s Pro Girl isn’t reliable.

Race 9: This is the blow-up race where anything can happen. I could go six deep here and I still wouldn’t feel confident. (2) Big Sky Angelina should improve off last. (7) Call The Warden broke in last two starts but qualified back well.
