Meadowlands Pick-4, Races 6-9, Thursday, June 16, 2011

After 12 Pick 4s at the Meadowlands I’m down $274 and haven’t hit a Pick-4. Saturday night was a tough sequence and I only spent $16. Tonight’s sequence appears much easier and could come up chalky, although if one of the favorites blows up the payoff could soar. I’m going to try $4 tickets instead of $1 and use two singles.

$4 play: 16/19/6/3 = $16

Analysis:

Race 6: (6) Rock’em won his third straight in two move style last week but I think that (7) Four Corners has a shot here. He chased series leader Waldy Jimmy in a fast race two back then had a tough trip in the slop.

Race 7: Shipper (9) Oyster Bay will take all the money here; he has been facing some fast horses in tougher events. But I’m also going to use (1) Arts Fav’s Won who may have needed his last start at Yonkers and has a preference for this track.

Race 8: (6) Live Jazz qualified nicely for a high percentage barn and he showed ability as a 2-year-old. I’m going to single this one, this qualifier was faster than most of these can trot in p.m. races.

Race 9: (3) Who Am I comes off a sharp placing in a quick race at Yonkers; his final 5/16’s of :34.3 is roughly a :27.3 final quarter and he is proven over a one mile track. I’ll single him here as he drops to the bottom.
