Dover, DE — The $259,486 Matron Stakes Final brings the 2009 Dover Downs open stakes schedule to a close on Sunday, Nov. 29. Also on the program are five Delaware Standardbred Breeders Fund second and final leg preliminaries, leading up to the $100,000 series finals on Sunday, Dec. 6. Post time is 5:30 p.m.

Bulletproof Enterprises is represented by a three-colt entry. Straight Shooting, second in his Matron elim and winner of the American- National the week before, will have George Brennan in the sulky. Schoolkids, third in his elim with Tim Tetrick and Ideal Race, teamed with Ontario regular Mark MacDonald, also third last week, complete the formidable entry.

Nob Hill High, with Hall of Famer John Campbell, was a 39-1 shot winner last Sunday for breeders and owners Bob Mondillo and Don Robinson. Clear Vision, second in his elim, will be in the hands of David Miller, driving for owners John Fielding and David McDuffee. Hypnotic Blue Chip, owned by Rachel Frost, R. M. Murphy, Stable 45 and trainer Mark Harder, will be reined by Andy Miller.

The hometown favorite is Elmer Fannin and George Teague Jr.’s Mr Wiggles, handled by Corey Callahan. Arctic Warrior, racing for Eyerly, Vizzi, Novsinger and Wahoo Stable, got into the Matron Final when Vintage Master, one of last week’s elim winners, failed to drop in to race. Yannick Gingras will be his driver.

The DSBF second leg prelims feature colt and gelding events, three pace divisions and two trots.

Elmer Fannin, George Teague and Badlands Racing’s Delmarvalous (Ron Pierce) and JoAnn King’s Enee Weenie And Me (Tim Tetrick) meet in one of the $20,000 pace prelims.

The Wiz Kids Stable’s Golden Gladiator (Tony Morgan) and Amazing Quest (Brad Hanners), owned by Ken Mitchell and Freida Ivory, were both second last week. The other starters are Al Moor and J&E Stable’s Downonthefarm (Eddie Davis Jr.) and Nick Callahan’s Olive To Party (Corey Callahan).

In another DSBF pace prelim, Stephanie and Brian Cassell’s McMurray Hanover (Tim Tetrick) is working on a two-race win streak. Greg Simendinger’s Here Comes Brandon (Vince Copland) and Louie Paglierani’s Lou’s Bad Yankee (Jim Morand) were both in the money last week. Len Hubbard’s Lucky Power (Ron Pierce) and Justin Skinner’s Fall Toy (George Dennis) complete the lineup.

A third colt pace prelim is made up by Mike and Ann Tait’s Tug River John (Tony Morgan) and Scout Hanover (Ben Stafford Jr.), racing for Ben Stafford and Trevor Donaldson, who finished second last time. They meet Bob Mundell’s Twincreeks Indy (Kim Vincent); Powerful Ball (George Dennis), owned by Alvin and Allen Beiler; Gonwithurbadself, owned by trainer-driver Bob Shahan; and Jim Boyd and The Wiz Kids Stable’s Charlie By Far (Bart Dalious).

In the first of two DSBF trots, Rod Allen will drive his Nitro Commando, along with John and Pat Moore’s Super Delegate (Eddie Moore), the winners of last week’s prelims. Peppin Tom, owned by driver Ron Hill and Ginger Keeler; Jay Baxter’s Montabello Zeke (Jim Morand); Syl King-leased Political Flattery (John Wagner); and Red Rascal (Eddie Davis Jr.), owned by Joe MacDonald and J&E Stable, are the other starters.

The second DSBF trot matches Erica Brittingham and driver Vic Kirby’s Eric B Brief; Bob Wyatt and Nanticoke Racing’s Y M I Special (Les Givens); Mike Gannon’s Par Done My Putt (Windy Donaway); Airborne Commando (Rod Allen); Alan Stull’s Wygant Knight (Taylor Gower); and Serendipity Stable’s Politico (Roger Plante).
