Rembrandt Spur equals world record at The Meadows

Columbus, OH — Rembrandt Spur, a 3-year-old trotting gelding by Pegasus Spur, out of the Armbro Iliad mare Marty E, tied Shermans Mountain’s world record on a five-eighths-mile track with a 1:53.3 score on Wednesday night (Sept. 23) at The Meadows.

Driven by Richard Stillings for owner Roy Davis, Rembrandt Spur left from post position five in a $17,500 conditioned trot and led every step of the mile. The fractions were :28.1, :57.2, 1:25.1 and 1:53.3.

Rembrandt Spur hit the wire 1-1/4 lengths ahead of Santana Bluestone for his seventh win in 16 season’s starts. He has now banked $136,268 in 2009.
