Sore foot keeps Dial Or Nodial out of Meadowlands Pace

Freehold, NJ — Trainer Jim Campbell reported that 3-year-old pacer Dial Or Nodial will miss the Meadowlands Pace because of a sore foot of undetermined origin.
“The good news is that everything X-rayed good on him, but he’s on the shelf right now,” Campbell said.
The horse is unable to do any work right now and Campbell is not able to put a date on a return to racing.
“We don’t know about a time frame,” he said. “He’s improved a lot since the North America Cup final (where he finished fifth), but it’s just something we’ve got to play by ear. For now, we’re going to take our time and do the right thing by him. It’s in his (right hind) foot, but nothing broken or anything like that. It’s probably a blood bruise underneath the sole of the foot.
“The main thing is that there is nothing broken and we are on a day-to-day basis. I hope we’re able to get him back.”
Dial Or Nodial, a two-time New Jersey Sire Stakes champion in addition to winning divisions of the Bluegrass and International Stallion stakes last year, is owned by Arlene and Jules Siegel.
