Northfield, OH — With seven wins on Monday’s (March 9) card at Northfield, Aaron Merriman has moved into a tie with Tony Morgan for the number one spot in North America with 149 wins.
The evening began pretty normally, as Merriman took the second race with 1-2 Lady Tiraider.
He was quiet for awhile, but won all three legs of the Pick Three that started with race six. He scored with Constantinoble ($6.40), I’m Faster ($8.80) and Super Max N ($3.80) to return $92.60 to his Pick Three backers.
The three-time Northfield driving champ made it four in a row when he piloted 3-1 trotter Quantum King Leo to victory in the ninth and then won both halves of the late daily double, winning with Lucky And Free ($6.00) in the 12th and Domenico ($6.40) in the 13th, yielding a $12 double.
