Rocknroll Hanover tops NJ-sired yearlings list

Trenton, NJ — Rocknroll Hanover is the leading sire of 2008 yearlings nominated to the New Jersey Sire Stakes Program, with 147 foals eligible to race as 2-year-olds in 2009.

Rocknroll Hanover, who stands at Perretti Farms in Cream Ridge, is the sire of 64 foals bred in-state and 83 by interstate semen transport. His sire, Western Ideal, who stands at Hanover Shoe Farms in Lambertville, had the the third highest number of 2008 yearlings nominated to the Sire Stakes with a total of 103, 49 in-state and 54 via interstate semen transport.

In the runner-up slot was the late stallion Artsplace, with 134 nominated yearlings, 48 bred in-state and 86 from interstate semen transport.

The registered New Jersey trotting stallion Yankee Glide, who previously stood at Kentuckiana Farms in New Egypt, was fourth with 102 offspring eligible to the NJSS program, 14 in-state and 88 through interstate semen transport.

Rounding out the top five among NJ stallions was Cam’s Card Shark, another stallion at Hanover of New Jersey, siring 93 eligible foals, 27 in-state and 66 by interstate semen transport.
