Lu Lu Q is favored in NJSS Final

by Carol Hodes, for the New Jersey Sire Stakes

Freehold, NJ — Lu Lu Q has been installed as the slight 5-2 morning line favorite in the $85,000 New Jersey Sire Stakes Final for 2-year-old pacing fillies on Saturday, September 6, at Freehold Raceway.

The daughter of McArdle-Taylor Lou Q will leave from post three with Andy Miller in the sulky for trainer Erv Miller.

After winning a pair of baby race qualifiers at the Meadowlands in July, Lu Lu Q captured her first two pari-mutuel starts, including an opening round NJSS event. She finished out of the money in her last start, the second leg on August 22, and skipped round three.

The first foal of Taylor Lou Q is owned by and was bred by Steve Stewart, Alan Quinn and Frank Cannon.

Jkmusicofthenite (Western Ideal-L’Chaim), who had a three-race winning streak that included a Kindergarten leg at the Meadowlands, the Molly Pitcher and opening round of the NJSS, both at Freehold, is rated the 7-2 second choice from post four.

Wildflower Hanover (Western Ideal-Witchn Flight) and Arbeedo (Artsplace-Shoobeedobeedo), who dead heated to win last week, both drew poorly with Wildflower Hanover, rated 9-2, leaving from post seven and Arbeedo, 10-1, from post eight.

The New Jersey Sire Stakes at Freehold record for this age, gender and gait of 1:54.4. was set by Coochie Mama (Matt’s Scooter) in 2002.
