Big night for Kakaley, Noble at Northfield

by Keith Gisser, Publicity Director, Northfield Park

Northfield, OH — Dan Noble powered Marvel Sahbra past pacesetter Polo Jenn at the 56.3 half and rolled away from Friday’s featured fillies and mares open field in an eye-popping lifetime best 1:53.3 win in 30 degree temperatures. Be My Valentine finished second and Look To Book rallied for third. Marvel Sahbra, a 7-year-old Towner’s Big Guy mare, picked up her 8th win of the season and went over $100,000 in her career. Trainer Rick Gehron shares title on the mare with Ronald Weidle, Sr.

19-year-old Matt Kakaley won four races on the night, scoring with Interstate Kate in the first, Stormy Gray Sea in the fourth, Ms Debron in the eighth, and Betta Ona Freddie in the ninth. Noble scored with Jetstream Cute Cam and Sam’s Angel for a driving triple in his only three drives on the card.

Saturday’s Pick Four Carryover at Northfield Park (Races 8-11) is $3,302.
