DSBF splits for fillies underway

Harrington, DE — Five $20,000 divisions of the Delaware Standardbred Breeders Fund Stakes (DSBF) for 2-year-old pacing fillies were contested on Tuesday, October 9, at Harrington Raceway.

Roger Plante, Jr. drove Snatch The Fortune to a 1:56.1 score.

Clayton Goad and John Brown’s Snatch The Fortune (Roger Plante, Jr., 1:56.1) was the fastest winner.

Trainer George Teague won two divisions with Sheisaknockout (Jim Morand, 1:57.1) and Pretty Knockout (Morand, 1:57.2).

Ricky Pryor and Erika Paradee’s Royal Fortune (Victor Kirby, 1:57.1) and Art and Andrew Stafford’s Badlands Power (Art Stafford, Jr., 1:56.2) also won their divisions.

The second leg will be held October 16, and $100,000 Final on October 23, closing night for the fall meet.

Wednesday marks the draw of the eliminations for the inaugural Bobby Quillen Memorial ($360,000 est. total purse). There are 58 nominees for the event, including some of the sport’s top older pacers. Elims are scheduled for October 15, with the final on October 22.
