Tug River Man wins $35,000 Green Acres Final

Freehold, NJ — Tug River Man ($2.60, $2.60, $2.10) extended his winning streak to three with an open length victory in the $35,000 New Jersey Sires Stakes Green Acres Final for 3-year-old trotting colts, the sixth race on Thursday (October 4) at Freehold Raceway.

Tug River Man, a gelded son of Malabar Man, trotted the mile in 2:00.3, finishing 6-3/4 lengths ahead of Strive For Perfect ($13.00, $2.10), a son of Muscles Yankee, and Sweet Daddy Siki ($2.10), who is by Dream Vacation, and finished 7-1/4 lengths back in third.

Trained by Craig McInnis and driven by Jeff Gregory, Tug River Man posted his fourth win in ’07, and is now nine of 17 in-the-money this year. Lifetime, he has finished in the top three in 13 of 23 starts and banked $66,264.

Tug River Man was bred by Bobby Mills and Michael Tait and races in the name of Michael and E. Ann Tait of Dagsboro, Del.
