Monticello, NY — The last of Monticello Raceway’s Magnificent Seven stakes events, the $240,000 (est.) Phillip Tully Memorial Trot for sophomore trotting fillies, is slated to go to post on Monday, October 22. However, if eliminations are needed they will be contested a week earlier on Monday, October 15.

A bevy of outstanding sophomore trotting fillies remain eligible headlined by Falls For You ($281,992), the Trond Smedshammer–trained daughter of Yankee Glide who is currently at the top of her game. She won the $178,000 Moni Maker Trot in 1:53.4 at the Red Mile on September 16 and then came back on September 28, again over the red dirt, to cop a $90,000 Bluegrass Stakes event in a time of 1:54.1.

However, Falls For You isn’t the only outstanding 3-year-old who remains eligible. Vulcanize, the Bob McIntosh-trained daughter of Muscles Yankee, who is a winner of $508,000 this season with a seasonal mark of 1:55.3, is also Tully Memorial eligible. She is owned by the Lothlorien Equestrian Centre of Mississauga, Ontario.

Other speedy fillies who may have a chance to add to their seasonal earnings if they compete in the Phil Tully Trot include: Possess The Magic ($345,963-1:53.2); Danae ($464,135-1:54.2); Oh Oh It’s Magic ($263,502-1:56.4); Resortful ($255,030-1:55.1) and Flash Lightning ($159,318), who was a 1:52.4 winner at the Red Mile on September 28.

Two outstanding New York breds, Chippewa Street ($182,144-1:56.4) and Angie Blue Chip ($138,091-1:57), are also possible starters.

In all there were 107 sophomore trotting fillies that remained eligible to the Tully Memorial Trot.

Monticello Raceway’s Director of Racing, Eric Warner, wants to remind horsemen that the entry box for the $240,000 (est.) Phillip Tully Memorial Trot closes at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 10.
