by Steve Wolf, Senior Director Racing Operations

Pompano Beach, Fla – Management at the Isle Casino & Racing at Pompano Park announced today that the new racing surface will be ready for their opening night program on Friday, September 14.

Horses will be training over the new surface early next week. Due to the delay in getting the track ready, there will be a 60-day rule in effect for qualifying standards for older horses and any Florida-bred 2 and 3-year-olds entering the Florida Sunshine Stakes will not need to be qualified to enter.

The entry box for Friday’s first draw closes on Tuesday, Sept. 11 at 9:00 am. Saturday’s entry box closes Wednesday, Sept. 12 at 9:00 am. The first qualifying races for the meet will take place Friday, September 14 at 10:00 am and horses must be entered by 9:00 am Thursday. There will also be a horsemen’s meeting with track management at 11:30 am Friday following the qualifying races.
