Friday’s $9,000 Mares Open Pace at Northfield Park ended in a three-horse photo and when the print came back from the Fotomat, Look To Book had posted her 7th seasonal win and pushed her career earnings to $31,791.

Look To Book was last at the 27.1 quarter as Dynastar cut the mile. She was into the cover flow at the 56.3 half as Polo Jenn and Sand Calady gave her cover, and moved three-wide as the field approached the three-quarters, which was clocked in 1:25.2. The 4-year-old Nobleland Sam mare was still fifth at the head of the stretch and very wide, as pocket-sitting Still Standing moved inside and Polo Jenn continued to chase Dynastar.

At the wire, Look To Book was a nose ahead of Polo Jenn, with Dynastar a neck back and Still Standing also within a length. Mark Deaton trains the winning mare for owner Gerald Goldberg of Pepper Pike, Ohio
