Nichols, NY — JK Majorette headlines the New York Sires Stakes for 2-year-old filly pacers on Friday night (September 7) at Tioga Downs. The daughter of Art Major has a perfect five-for-five slate in her freshman year and will look to continue her undefeated season.

Leaving from post position seven, JK Majorette will be piloted by Jim Morrill, Jr. for trainer Linda Toscano. She was purchased by the 3 Brothers Stable of New York, N.Y., for $97,000 at the Lexington Selected Sale and is well on her way to earning back her purchase price, having already banked over $81,000 in her first five career starts.

A total of five divisions of the New York Sires Stakes for 2-year-old filly pacers have been slated for Friday night.

Duke Did It will look for his fifth victory of his freshman campaign in the final leg of the Kindergarten Classic. The 2-year-old Bettor’s Delight colt is owned by the Duke Did It Stable and Susan Oakes, while Chris Oakes does the training.

The only loss thus far in his career came on August 11 in a division of the New York Sires Stakes State Fair, where he made a miscue behind the gate and never recovered. Josh Marks will handle Duke Did It for the second straight start, in what should be a preparation for next week’s $85,000 (est.) Final.

His main competition will come from Dreams Are Real and Yannick Gingras, for trainer Erv Miller. The 2-year-old son of Artsplace is owned by MG Racing Stables LLC and has been slated as the 7-5 morning line favorite.

Don’t miss all the racing action from Nichols, New York, as two of the top New York Sires Stakes drivers, Jim Morrill, Jr. and Stephane Bouchard, come to town, along with one of the east coast’s top young drivers, Yannick Gingras. Post time is 6:50 p.m. for Friday night’s 12-race card.
