Tiger’s eight is grrrrreat!

by Frank Drucker, publicity director, Empire City at Yonkers Raceway

Yonkers, NY — Art’s Tiger had to work a bit harder than usual on Labor Day evening, but he did earn his eighth consecutive victory at Yonkers Raceway.

The 7-year-old Perfect Art gelding, driven by Stephane Bouchard, just did get by a stubbon Keystone Resident (Pat Berry) in the $17,000 eighth race pace.

Art’s Tiger ($2.40) won the event for $40,000 claimers by a two-move neck in a season’s best 1:53.3. The reformed $10,000 claimer, who began his roll after being plucked by owner Frank Scamporino, Jr. in early July, has won nine of his 21 seasonal starts. Julius Czermann, Jr. trains the summer’s hottest commodity.

Art’s Tiger has earned $53,250 with these eight wins in succession. His career cash is now more than $260,000.
