Ft. Washington, MD — After winning with a confident mile in her last start, Drivin’ Miss Rudee will try to make it two in a row in the $9,000 Open Pace for fillies and mares at Rosecroft Raceway on Saturday, September 1.

Scratched injured on August 25, however, the 5-year-old Walton Hanover mare last raced on August 18 at this level. After making a quarter-pole move for the lead, Drivin’ Miss Rudee won by less than a length in 1:54.1. Regular reinsman Donnie Russell will be aboard for the drive on Saturday. John Sumner trains and co-owns the classy mare with William Camp, Jr.

Returning to Rosecroft from Harrah’s Chester is Flirtwithedealer at 2-1 early odds. The trainee of Trevor Stafford, a 5-year-old Cam’s Card Shark mare, recently finished second in a non-winners event for distaff pacers in 1:52.4 over the Pennsylvania oval. Victor Kirby will drive from post position five for owners Thomas Ireland and Ronald Killen.

Another to consider may be Gen-U-Wine Raider from the two hole at 9-2 morning line odds. The 6-year-old daughter of Keystone Raider has been consistent recently, finishing first or second in five of her last six starts. Kelly Staten will drive for trainer Steven Swann, and the mare is owned by Julie and Lois Swann.

Badlands Cowgirl (Billy Mann, 6-1), Mymymylookatherfly (John Wagner, 6-1) and Blissfully High (Brian Burton, 10-1) will also face the starter in the 10th race of the evening.

Post time on Saturday is set for 7:20 p.m.
