Cyber Circuit Handicapping: The Yonkers Trot

by Jerry Connors

Harrisburg, PA — Top sophomore trotters are on the track Saturday at Yonkers for the final of the Yonkers Trot.

In the absence of Donato Hanover, Adrian Chip seems the best of this group. He was a quality 2-year-old here, went over to Europe for a fine start of his 3-year-old campaign, then returned and finished a very good second to the invincible Donato in the Hambletonian. Driver Bergh may have to worry a bit about a speed duel or continuous contention, but we think that Adrian Chip will seize control of this race and trot along to victory.

If you’re a gimmick player, take a look at Up Front Larry at 8-1. In his last race he tucked, then made a second move and was trotting well at the end to be second to Adrian Chip. Aggressive Palone is at the controls, and drawing the rail.

Primary AS is a very good sort when on his game, as he has shown, but he’s outside the favorite and a bunch of speed on a half-mile track — wonder if he’ll race from behind. Green Day and Quite Easy deserve gimmick respect in here.

If Adrian Chip makes the lead without too much of a price to pay, we think he will be the winner of the Yonkers Trot 2007.

Note: The Yonkers Trot is part of the 2007 USTA Cyber Circuit, meaning that video will be posted online moments after the “official” sign goes up; to see video from previous Cyber Circuit races click here.
