Imperious sharp in Rosecroft qualifier

Ft. Washington, MD — Tom “Nuclear Breeze” Cooke’s Imperious wired a qualifying field at Rosecroft Raceway on Wednesday morning (Jan. 17) with a mile timed in 1:56.4.

The 5-year-old Glowing Tribute pacer, trained by Roger Hans, hit the lead early on in the race and paced through easy fractions of :29, :59 and 1:27. Imperious, under the guidance of driver Jonathan Roberts, finished 2-1/4 lengths ahead of Drivin’ Miss Rudee (Donnie Russell). Hero Tribute, driven by Corey Braden, was third.

Live racing will return to the Rosecroft oval this coming Saturday, Jan. 20. A total of seven races have been carded to kick off the 2007 meet. On Monday, January 22, a full evening of 13 races will be presented.
