Northfield, OH — Standout sophomore trotter Jailhouse Denise stalked favored pacesetter Big Charmer throughout Monday’s (Dec. 18) $9,000 Open Trot at Northfield, and then took advantage of the leader’s break in deep stretch to win in 1:58.2 for trainer Virgil Morgan, Jr. and driver Elliott Deaton.

The daughter of Jailhouse Jesse pushed her seasonal earnings to $65,111 and her career earnings to $167,993 for owner Joseph Muscara of Huntingdon Valley, Pennsylvania. The win was her 11th of the season.

The victory was one of three on the card for Deaton, while second-ranked driver Aaron Merriman posted six victories on the 14-race card.
