A look at some memorable moments in harness racing history:

November 27, 1957 – Flaxey Dream, Great Knight, and Navy Song finish in a triple dead heat for win at Roosevelt Raceway in New York.

November 28, 1992 – Capital Idea wins the Matron for two-year-old trotters in 2:02.2 at Pompano Park in Florida.

November 29, 1985 – Nihilator wins the Breeders Crown for three-year-old male pacers in 1:53 at Garden State Park in New Jersey en route to Horse of the Year honors.

November 30, 1962 – A closing night crowd of 35,677 wagers $3.2 million at Yonkers Raceway in New York, marking the first time in harness racing history that a track’s handle tops $3 million for a single night.

November 30, 1990 – Artsplace sets the world record for two-year-old colts pacing on a five-eighths of a mile track by winning the Breeders Crown in 1:51.1 at Pompano Park.

December 1, 2000 – Clyde’s Moment sets the world record for female pacers on a track larger than one mile by winning in 1:50.4 at Colonial Downs in Virginia.

December 2, 2000 – The Paper Wazoo sets the world record for four-year-old geldings pacing on a five-eighths of a mile track by winning in 1:50.2 at Pompano Park.

December 3, 1988 – Mack Lobell wins the Van Lennep Memorial Invitational in 1:55.3 at Pompano Park.
