Monticello, NY — A rising star seems to be emerging at Monticello Raceway in the presence of 19-year-old Jordan “The Kid” Stratton.

Noble Cam and “The Kid” are all alone at the wire in the $12,500 pacing co-feature.

On Tuesday (Nov. 21), “The Kid” scored one of his biggest wins to date when he guided 12-1 shot Noble Cam to an easy three length victory over favored Percee Angus and driver Mark Beckwith in the Mighty M’s $12,500 co-featured pace.

Dismissed by the betting public, Stratton guided the Nobleland Sam 7-year-old stallion to a seasonal best of 1:56 en route to the victory.

After a first-up move at the halfway point, Noble Cam was eyeball to eyeball with the pace-setter, Skeeter Todd (Ray Schnittker), at the three-quarter pole and from there Stratton hustled the pacer away to a six length lead and they coasted home to an easy victory.

Noble Cam, trained by Dave Stratton (The Kid’s dad) and owned by Charles Meyer of Ottawa, Ohio, paid $26.80 to win.

It was the 26th driving victory of the year for the youngster, who is still carrying a Provisional license.

Jayees Albert N slips up the passing lane to defeat “The Kid’s” pacer King Cat Anvil N in the $15,000 pacing feature.

In fact “The Kid” was also a force in the track’s $15,000 pacing feature. In that one he rallied King Cat Anvil N from far back and finished second to Jayees Albert N and driver Jimmy Devaux in a 1:56.2 clocking.

Again Stratton’s pacer was overlooked and sent off at odds of 9-1, and though not a winner he made a race of it when he hustled his pacer past favored Armbro Animate (Stephane Bouchard) in the deep stretch, only to lose out to Devaux, who scooted Jayees Albert N up the passing lane to victory.

Jayee’s Albert N, owned by Paul Kasofsky, Lee Schrager and Jerry Chiappetta and trained by Tammy Devaux, returned a $10.20 win mutuel.
