FT. WASHINGTON, MD — Kelley Rogers’ The Fraterity Pan topped Pleasing Artist by a length in 1:51.4, setting a seasonal mark and earning his fourth victory of the year. Trained by Ken Schlotzhauer, the horse now has over $217,000 banked in purse checks.

Pleasing Artist [$8.20, $7.80], making his first start at Rosecroft for the Manley Brown, Jr. barn, sat in the pocket and steadily tracked the leader throughout the mile to finish second. Driven by John Wagner, the five-year-old gelded son of Real Artist was recently competing on the New Jersey circuit with success. Pleasing Artist has a lifetime mark of 1:50.4 set at Mohawk last year and races for owner Heather Ronay.

Mr. Thinker [$3.00], usually on the board in this class, closed for third with Donnie Russell at his lines. Owned by Tom Cooke, the six-year-old Glowing Tribute horse made up some lengths in the stretch with a 28.2 last quarter. Trained by Roger Hans, Mr. Thinker now has a line of 2-3-3 across the board from 12 starts this year.

The favorite, Racing Naked, a winner in 1:51.0 last week, failed to get racing luck and had to make two moves throughout the mile. The Misfit stallion managed to hold on for fourth with a first over effort in the stretch under the guidance of driver Frank Milby.

The 5-4-3 trifecta returned $186.00.

Live racing returns to Rosecroft on Saturday with a 7:20 p.m. post time.
