Qualifiers continue as Pocono opener draws closer

WhatAFantasy, piloted by Mike Simons, turned in the fastest qualifying time of Tuesday (March 28) as Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs draws nearer to its start of the 2006 harness racing season that will open Saturday afternoon, April 1.
Leaving from the five post, WhatAFantasy went wire-to-wire in tripping the timer in 1:56.4.
Donnegal, driven by Greg Wasiluk, turned in the fastest qualifying time for a trotter, tripping the timer in 1:59.1.
Keystone Harrier, also with Wasiluk in the bike, looked good in winning with a time of 2:00. Keystone Harrier went wire to wire from the six hole.
Other winners included Rendell (George Napolitano, Jr.), 1:57.2; Bubbellicious (Jim Taggart, Jr.), 1:57.3; Marcarious (Napolitano, Jr.), 2:01; Wolf’s Fawn (Taggart, Jr.), 2:02.3.
Mohegan Sun will open its 2006 season with an afternoon post of 2:30 on Saturday.
