In the wake of Hurricane Wilma pounding Florida, Pompano Park is requesting that horsemen that were planning to ship their horses to the track remain at home.
“We have suffered major damage on the backstretch,” said Jane Murray, the executive director of the Florida Standardbred Breeders and Owners Association.
Horsemen that have questions or concerns can contact Murray via her cell phone at (954) 775-5112.
Additional announcements from the track will be posted as soon as they are available.
Also, the Florida Standardbred Breeders and Owners Association mixed and yearling sale, which had been scheduled for this coming Sunday, has been indefinitely postponed. An announcement regarding the new date will be made at a later time.
