FT. WASHINGTON, MD – Bill Clark’s Honolulu Hunk walked off with the win in the $3,000 Sire Stakes division for two-year-old trotting colts and geldings on Friday at Rosecroft, and Mandas Mistyclover did the same in the distaff trot.

Honolulu Hunk [$4.60, $8.40, $5.80], trained and driven by Jerry Nock, came into this race off of two consecutive victories. The sharp Program Speed colt left the gate from post two and cut the mile with fractions of 30.0, 1:01.0 and 1:30.3 to win in a new lifetime best of 2:00.0 by several lengths.

Onstar K [$4.60, $4.00] was second with driver Bill Long and Misty Moonlight [$11.80], driven by Syl King, Jr. was third.

The Sire Stakes event for trotting fillies was slated as an early post time due to the two-horse field. Mandas Mistyclover, owned by Donnie and Nancy Drewer, earned her first lifetime win , drawing away from Leon Harris’s Go Go Girl by about six lengths in 2:09.1.

Trainer Darryle Dennis named John Littleton, Jr. to drive Mandas Mistyclover, and Go Go Girl was reined by Jewett Pumphrey.

Live harness racing action returns to Rosecroft on Saturday, with two divisions of the Maryland Standardbred Race Fund. Post time is set for 7:20 p.m.
