Palm Aire Peg wins Killbuck Mary Final

by Dustin Koehler, for Scioto Downs

Columbus, OH — The $6,500 Killbuck Mary Final was the featured race on Wednesday night at Scioto Downs, as a field of eight trotters headed to the post.

Palm Aire Peg, trained by Cecil Clemmons, slid into the garden spot and let Pleasant Miss take the field through the three-quarter pole. Jeff Nisonger, driving Palm Aire Peg, made his move coming down the stretch, taking the win by a half length. Sweet M, driven by James Dailey, came up just short and settled for second. Pleasant Miss, driven by Ron Steck, rounded out the top three.

Palm Aire Peg recovered from a poor showing last week to score her third win of the year and recorded a new lifetime mark of 2:01.2.
