Cutler elims go to Mr Muscleman and Hurri Kane Billy G

EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ – May 13, 2005 – Mr Muscleman [$2.60] and Hurri Kane Billy G [$8.80, $4.60, $2.80] will have their pick of post positions for the $180,000 Arthur J. Cutler Memorial on May 20 after winning their respective $40,000 elimination race on Friday night at the Meadowlands.

Mr Muscleman coasted to a length and a half victory over Hez Striking in the fifth race, the second of the two elimination races. HP Paque was third by three and three-quarter lengths and Hunt M Down finished fourth. The field was reduced to four when Fool’s Goal was scratched lame and Durgin Hanover was scratched sick. There was no place or show wagering.

Trained by Noel Daley and driven by Ron Pierce, Mr Muscleman trotted the mile in 1:54.2 for his third win in four starts this year. The two-time divisional champion has banked $1,991,237 for Adam Victor & Son Stable LLC of New York City.

Hurri Kane Billy G defeated Sand Vic in a lifetime best of 1:53 flat in the 1st Cutler elim.

In the first division, the second race, Yannick Gingras guided Hurri Kane Billy G to a length and a quarter victory over Sand Vic [$15.40, $6.20] in a lifetime best of 1:53 flat. Hellava Hush [$2.40] was two and a half lengths back in third, followed by ENS Snapshot, Elegant Man, Al Dente Hanover and Holy Guacamolie.

Hurri Kane Billy G, trained by Kevin McDermott for the Two H’s Farm of Jupiter, Florida and Anthony Lombardi Jr. of Fairfield, New Jersey, now has four wins, four seconds and two thirds in 13 starts this year.

A pair of first round New Jersey Sire Stakes for three-year-old pacing fillies shared the spotlight on Friday night. In the $36,050 first division, the first race, 1-5 favorite Ideal News [$2.40, $2.10, $2.10], driven by David Miller and trained by Joe Holloway, extended her winning streak to five in-a-row with a three and a half length victory over Savannah Sky [$2.10, $2.10]. Righteous Renee [$2.10] was nine and a half lengths back in third.

Gingras guided I’m All In [$6.40, $3.20, $2.40] to a one-length victory over Secret Deal [$3.60, $2.80] in the third race, the $35,450 second division. Freezer Cash [$3.80] was third by a length and a quarter. I’m All In, trained by Steve LeBlanc, paced the mile in a lifetime best of 1:53.1 for her second win in nine starts.
