HARRINGTON, Del. – Martin Scharf’s Chewy Gross set a new track record of 1:52 for aged pacing geldings Monday at Harrington Raceway in the $18,500 Open Pace.

Driver Jim Morand drove the Josh Green trainee, who set all the fractions and was never headed in his impressive triumph. He paid $7.20 to win. Track records are nothing new for the 6-year-old Jenna’s Beach Boy gelding, who rolled to a 1:49.3 win at Plainridge Racecourse last year.
