Boulder Creek scores in 1:49; Jenna’s Choice takes Berry’s Creek Prep

EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ – April 30, 2005 – Boulder Creek [$3.20, $3.00, $2.20], the 2004 Breeders Crown winner, took advantage of a hot first half to rally for a length and a quarter victory in the seventh race, the $47,500 open pace on Saturday night at the Meadowlands.

Armbro Animate [$7.80, $4.80] was second and it was two and a half lengths back to Mini Me [$2.60] in third.

Boulder Creek, driven by Brian Sears and trained by Mark Silva, benefited from a first half in 53.1 when Georgia Pacific and Live Out Loud engaged in a backside duel. The five-year-old gelding, owned by New Yorkers Cliff Siegel, Lee Wasserman and John Fodera, lifted his career earnings to nearly $1.3 million.

A race earlier in a $30,000 condition pace, Shu Hanover [$5.80, $3.00, $2.40], driven by George Brennan and trained by Ken Rucker, scored his fifth straight win, equaling the season’s fastest mile of 1:48.3. The Fox Sports Net Series sweeper now has eight wins in 14 starts this year for the Rucker Stable of Beecher, Illinois; Jordon Sklut of Portage Indiana and the Centaur Stable of Oak Lawn, Illinois.

Jenna’s Choice drew off to a five and a quarter length victory over Pat’s All Star in the $25,000 Berry’s Creek prep.

In the tenth race, the $25,000 prep race for next Saturday’s $225,480 Berry’s Creek Final, Jenna’s Choice [$3.40, $2.60, $2.40], driven by Brian Sears, posted his sixth win in 14 starts with a 1:51.3 mile. The Mark Silva trainee drew off to a five and a quarter length victory over Pat’s All Star [$5.80, $4.40]. Jo Pa’s Shark [$5.00] was third.

Jenna’s Choice was the winner this year at the Meadowlands of the finals of all three series for three-year-old pacers — the Junior Trendsetter, the Matt’s Scooter and the Suslow.

Four Starz Sisco, unbeaten in his first four starts, suffered his first loss, finishing eighth.
