Holy Guacamolie and Dink Adoo open Father Foley Series with victories

EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ – April 17, 2005 – Holy Guacamolie [$10.80, $3.60, $2.60] had the spirit to resist the challenge of even-money favorite Hurri Kane Billy G [$2.80, $2.60] to win the third race, the first of two $20,000 opening round divisions of the Father Foley Series for trotters on Sunday afternoon at the Meadowlands.

Holy Guacamolie trotted the mile in a lifetime best 1:52.3 in the 1st division.

Holy Guacamolie, driven by Ron Pierce and trained by Linda Toscano, held on for a head victory, trotting the mile in a lifetime best of 1:52.3.

Victory Margin [$5.00] was third by three and a half lengths.

A much anticipated match up between Hurri Kane Billy G, trained by John McDermott, and HZ Easy, from the barn of his brother, Kevin McDermott, was spoiled when HZ Easy broke stride on the backstretch while trying to yield to Sundance Kid G.

Holy Guacamolie, a five-year-old son of Conway Hall, races for Joe and Joann Thomson of Chesapeake City, Maryland, and the Carl & Rod Allen Stable of Ocala, Florida. He now has two wins and a third in three starts this year and a career bankroll of $194,303.

In the second division, carded as the fifth race, Dink Adoo [$4.20, $2.60, $2.20], who had a 10-race winning streak snapped in the Su Mac Lad Series, rebounded to win by one-length over ENS Snapshot [$3.00, $2.20] in a career best of 1:53.1.

Durgin Hanover [$2.40] edged out CR Kinetic for third, a length and a quarter back.

Dink Adoo trotted a career best 1:53.1 in the 2nd division.

Dink Adoo, owned by the Panhellenic Stable Corp. of Long Island City, New York, had won his last four starts of 2004 and opened this year with a streak of six straight. Bidding for his 11th in a row in the second round of the Su Mac Lad Series on April 3, Dink Adoo broke stride and finished ninth. In the Su Mac Lad Final on April 10, he was no factor, finishing seventh.

Trained by Ken Rucker and driven by Cat Manzi, Dink Adoo now has a career bankroll of $323,800.

The three-week Father Foley Series continues next Sunday with a $51,780 final on May 1.
