Six-bagger for Rick Zeron

Toronto, April 17, 2005…With six wins on the Saturday evening card of racing from Woodbine, Oakville, Ontario’s Rick Zeron put on an absolute clinic in the racebike, as he won more than half of his drives on the night.

His first win came in the second race on the card, the C$40,000 Preferred pace, when he brought Street Sign ($3.40) home from off the pace.

Zeron hit the wire first in the third race as well when his star trotting pupil, Super Spicy ($4.10), recorded his 24th career tally in a C$23,000 conditioned trot.

Fast Forward to the sixth race on the card and the native of Ottawa, Ontario, was in the winner’s circle again. Zeron, driving Horselaughter ($5.50) for trainer Jeff Gillis, notched his third victory on the evening in a C$28,000 event for claiming pacers.

Zeron was right back to work in the seventh race, as he circled the field with Lifes A Beach N ($7.60) in the C$23,000 pace.

Courtesy of Armbro Becalm ($4.60), the 48-year-old found himself back posing for pictures in the winner’s circle after he triumphed in the ninth race, a C$35,000 conditioned pace.

Zeron capped off his evening in the tenth race, a C$28,000 conditioned pace, after he took the front-end route to a 1:51.2 score with Buckeye One ($5.10).

Zeron, who has driven the winners of over 5,600 races in his career, also recorded a six-win night on September 25, 2003 at Mohawk.
