Ft. Washington, MD — Glowing Breeze set a new lifetime mark of 1:57.2 in the fifth race, a non winners of $1,000 last five starts worth $2,300, at Rosecroft on Friday.

The four-year-old Glowing Tribute mare took it easy off the gate and fell back into seventh for the majority of the mile, allowing Western Sidekick (Frank Milby) to cut the early fractions of :28.2 and :57.3.

Nearing the top of the stretch, reinsman John Wagner angled Glowing Breeze out and urged her along towards the wire, winning the race by a half length over the favorite G H Big Bang (William Long). Two and a quarter lengths back in third was Pop’s Folly (Jonathan Roberts).

Owned by Thomas B. Cooke of Rockville, Maryland, Glowing Breeze scored her second lifetime victory and returned a win payout of $7.80. The bay mare is conditioned by leading Rosecroft trainer Manley Brown, Jr.

Rosecroft will present nine competitive races, complete with a Winners Over feature, on Saturday, with post time set at 7:20 p.m.
