Stonebridge Kisses defeats Carolina Sunshine in mares open at The Big M

EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ – April 1, 2005 – Stonebridge Kisses got up in the final stride to score a head victory over Carolina Sunshine [$3.00, $2.40] in the $47,500 mares open, the featured fifth race on Friday night at the Meadowlands.

Stonebridge Kisses (1) edged Carolina Sunshine to win Friday’s mares open.

Artbitration [$3.40] made a late bid but finished third by a length.

Stonebridge Kisses, driven by Yannick Gingras and trained by Mark Ford, posted her second straight win and made her sixth trip to the winner’s circle in nine tries this year. The five-year-old mare has earned $160,925 in 2005 toward a career total of $315,445. She is owned by Martin Scharf of Lawrence, New York.
