Dangerous Thing scores in California

from Cal-Expo Raceway

Sacramento, CA — The Sacramento area enjoyed another marvelous spring day on Friday, March 25. Cal Expo presented a program of 13 races with the feature being the Invitational Handicap Trot. Five square gaiters were asked to race for a purse of $7,200.

Dangerous Thing ($4.00) was assigned the inside post and Rocky Stidham rocketed him out of the gate, grabbed the lead and never looked back, winning in 1:57.1. They passed the opener in :28.3 and the half in :59.1, a nice second quarter breather.

With three-eighths left to trot, Luke Plano tipped Kash L’Argent out first over and set sail for the top. The three-quarters went in 1:29. Kash L’Argent never made it and flattened out in deep stretch, which allowed I’m Dam Goog to get by for second money. The latter was last at the top of the stretch and he was flying late on the outside.

Mike Brown of nearby Granite Bay owns the winner and Stidham also trains him. He is a five-year-old Conway Hall stud, out of the Power Seat dam Cottonpatch. This was his fifth win in 10 starts this year.
