Balmoral card cancelled due to unsafe track

Tuesday night’s harness card at Balmoral Park was cancelled after seven races due to unsafe track conditions. A mixture of freezing rain and sleet pelted the track just after the start of the 11-race program.
Despite the efforts of the track crew to scrape the racing surface the drivers committee decided conditions were unsafe because of standing water and the deteriorating weather conditions.
An earlier delay of 20 minutes due to a power outage in the area was also a contributing factor in the decision.
Racing is scheduled to resume on Thursday night with another 11-race program. First post on Thursday will be 7:40 p.m.
