Ingraham to be honored for 5,000th win

Pompano Beach, Florida – March 1, 2005 – Harness driver David Ingraham posted his 5,000th career victory late Monday night at Pompano Park and will be honored with a special presentation Wednesday with his family and friends.

Ingraham, 43, from Lewiston, Maine, posted his 5,000th win with Cobra Hanover in the 9th race. The 22-1 long shot won by one and one-half lengths and paid $47.20 to win. Ingraham has been one of the top drivers at Pompano Park, Plainridge Racecourse (Massachusetts) and Rockingham Park (New Hampshire) for many years.

U Toe The Bike will seek his second straight win in the Open Handicap Trot Wednesday. He will starts from post four in the 7th race feature. Last week U Toe The Bike closed well at the top of the stretch for his second win of the season for driver Bruce Ranger with a 1:56.2 victory by one and one-quarter lengths.

Highway Hanover from post six is the 3-1 second choice in the race. He saw his four-race unbeaten winning streak come to a close to U Toe The Bike last week for driver Richard Simard.

Another return winner in the field is Muscle Boss Vita from the rail for trainer/driver Terry Morgan. The son of Muscles Yankee won last week by two open lengths in 1:57.4 in his first victory of the year. Also entered are Midgie (post 5) who was a 14-race winners last year, track record holder Lori Louise (post 7), the lone mare in the field, Australian import Mighty Maori A (post 2) and Ohio invader Dunkster (post 3).
