Zatta N, Beach Believer, Answer Me This head Saturday card

Dover, DE — A $13,000 three, four and five-year-old pace and an $11,500 event top the Saturday, February 19 program at Dover Downs. First post is 5:30 p.m.

Nine young pacers line-up in the $13,000 feature. A New Zealand import, Zatta N, owned by the Foster family, makes his third start since arriving in the U.S, starting from post nine in the second tier. The five-year-old by Village Jasper won his first start and finished second losing by a nose in his second race. Kevin Sizer will be in the bike.

A Delaware-bred sophomore, Bob Larrimore’s sharp Beach Believer has won three of his last five outings with Joe Sullivan holding the reins. Answer Me This, owned by MJ Racing, Tina and trainer-driver George Dennis, attempts to make amends following consecutive starts as a favorite without success. Love Of My Life Stable’s Papers RN The Mail with Eddie Davis, Jr. has been racing well and starts from post one. Big League Barry, recently acquired by Bob Aerenson, Ross Weiner and Wendy Crissman, makes his first local start with Sean Bier driving.

The rest of the field includes Phil Beachamp’s Raisin Land with Hal Belote, driver Ross Wolfenden’s My Mate Larry, trainer-driver Trevor Stafford’s Blissfull Silence and Ted Tomson’s TSM Scar Face, driven by Bret Brittingham.

Three starters in an $11,500 conditioned pace won last time out. Mike Dolan’s Gustavo N has made the winner’s circle three straight times with Ross Wolfenden at the controls. Falcor N, owned by Mike Baio and Vic Venturena, won his previous start and two of his last three with a second in between for meet leading driver Brad Hanners, while Kevin Sizer guided Clayton Goad’s Kurahaupo Hustler to a win last week.

Program favorite Jason William N, owned by Geraldine McClure and trainer-driver Steve Warrington, won a qualifying race last week.

Jeff Clark’s Inner Success N has been close with seconds in two of his last three races, while Henry King, Ken and Betsy Wood’s Mark’s Secret Love closed boldly last time and has the services of Jim Morand this week.

Marathon Hall, owned by Bill Reepmeyer, Tina and driver George Dennis, Sam Jacobs and Crissman Inc.’s Im A Rustler Too with Vic Kirby from the rail and Marilyn Milbrand’s LuLu’s Pocket, teamed with Eddie Davis, Jr., are the other contenders.

Ron Gorby’s Red Teddy (Brad Hanners) drops down in price to face three winners last time out in a $15,000-$17,500 mares claiming handicap. Four Starzzz Peach (Ross Wolfenden) brings a three race win streak, while Rebecca Pitre and driver Steve Warrington’s Costly Legs and Roland Wainwright’s Sam Francisco Bay (Kevin Sizer) are winners last time out.
