New Year’s Day program kicks off 2005 season at Monticello

Monticello, NY — Monticello Raceway will begin the 2005 racing schedule with a 12-race card on New Years Day, Saturday, January 1, and continue on a five-day-a -week schedule throughout the month of January.

The Mighty M will offer live harness on Mondays, Tuesday, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, and post time each day will be 12:40 p.m. (EST).

Featured races during January will include the Monticello Marathon, a two-mile trot which will be raced on Saturday, January 8, and the fifth annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Pace, a race showcasing the talents of African-American drivers, which will be raced on Monday, January 17.

Simulcast wagering will continue seven days a week. Harness simulcasts will be offered on Mondays through Saturdays, and Thoroughbred simulcasts and simulcasts from Freehold Raceway, will be available each Wednesdays through Sunday afternoon.

And, of course, gaming at the Mighty M will be offered each day.

Mighty M Gaming at Monticello Raceway, located on Route 17B in Monticello, N.Y., features 1,744 video gaming machines, the 350 seat Winner’s Circle Buffet, the Mighty Mmmm Food Court, and the 75 seat Lava Lounge, which features nightly entertainment. Mighty M Gaming’s winter hours will be from 10 a.m. until midnight each Sunday through Thursday, and from 10 a.m. until 2 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.
