Pondside Invader favored

Saint John, NB — Saturday afternoon at Exhibition Park Raceway features a C$1,700 feature and the race office has listed the eight entry Pondside Invader as the morning line favourite. He was a winner last week for Gord Hennessey in 1:583, a new record for the five-year old son of Largo.

Drop The Gloves, an impressive winner last week in 1:592 under wraps looks to repeat for owners John Davies and Diane Stevenson. Steve Mahar will drive the son of Lightening Speed from post position one.

Other starters in order of their post are Magnetic Benka (John Davidson), Johnney Six (Charlie Price), Cookie Lar E Goes (Mark Haig), Come On Scoot (Mike Stevenson), Rakland Fine Line (Gilles Barrieau) and Atom Jac N (Rick Armstrong).

Also featured on Saturday is a C$1,400 Filles and Mares Open that features a field of five starters. Crafty Jewel has drawn the coveted rail position and will be driven by co-owner Allan Jones. Charlottes Xena will score from post two for Gord Hennessey and has been listed as the 2-1 favourite. Comical Brilla leaves from the three hole for driver Gilles Barrieau while Pinchot and Steve Mahar and Country Cam and Todd Trites round out the starters.
