EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ – February 11, 2004 – Gussie Herman [$4.00, $2.80, $2.60] powered to her third straight win of the year and captured the fourth of five $12,500 divisions of the second round of the Tender Loving Care Series, the seventh race on Wednesday night at the Meadowlands.

The daughter of Cam’s Card Shark will likely be the favorite when 10 three-year-old pacing fillies go postward in the $76,500 Tender Loving Care Series on Friday, February 20, part of Winter Festival Weekend at the Meadowlands.
Gussie Herman, uncovered for most of the mile, pulled away to a four-length victory over Enlightened One [$6.20, $5.20] in a lifetime best of 1:54.1 for the mile. It was four and three-quarter lengths back to Armbro Bracken [$7.20].
A homebred owned by Howard Taylor of Penn Valley, Pennsylvania, Gussie Herman is driven by Ron Pierce and trained by Tom Shay. She has a lifetime record of four wins, three seconds and three thirds from 17 starts for earnings of $139,649.
