Freehold, NJ — Salvatore DeSantis’ Agassi and Ersilia Roy’s Black Fog HR took their respective $6,000 divisions of the second round of the State Time Pacing Series at Freehold Raceway on Wednesday.

The first division saw Agassi score a pacesetting win with Marcus Johansson in the sulky. The eight-year-old Abercrombie gelding cut fractions of :29, :59.1 and 1:28 en route to a two and one-half length tally in 1:56.4. Parker Hanover (Cat Manzi) got a pocket trip and held well for second, one-half length ahead of Mr Music (Jeff Dauplaise), who finished third.

Agassi recorded his fifth victory of the year in 14 starts. The trainee of Delvy Llopez returned $2.80 as the heavy choice in the wagering.

Black Fog HR, driven by Jim Marshall, III, rallied steadily through the stretch and edged clear for a one and one-half length, 1:57.2 victory in the second division of the State Time. A late arriving Star Lantern (Cat Manzi) nailed down the place spot and the early pacesetter, Regal Regency (Patrick Berry), lasted for third, two and one-half lengths behind the winner.

Black Fog HR, a six-year-old gelded son of Robust Hanover, notched his third win in 15 outings this season. Sent postward as the 7-10 favorite, the Paul Roy-trainee paid $3.40 to win.
