In his second race in his new home country, Algiers Hall won the Gran Premio Della Repubblicca at the track in Bologna, Italy.

With the leading Italian driver Enrico Bellei in the bike, Algiers Hall won very easily in 1:58h and picked up a check of $33,500.

The son of Conway Hall was campaigned in the U.S. by John Stark, Jr. and finished the 2006 season on a strong note, as he won the Matron Stakes at Dover and finished second in the Yonkers Trot.
