Harrington, DE — Robert Collins’ All American Padre ($3.40) started Harrington Raceway’s 61st year of live racing with a wire-to-wire win in 1:57.2 on Sunday evening, April 15, over a sloppy track.
Heavy downpours drenched the Mid-Atlantic area Sunday, but the Harrington half-mile still managed a 15-race card in the sloppy going, which ‘Padre’ and driver Tony Morgan kicked off with a two length score in a conditioned event for pacers. Trained by Wayne Truitt, the 4-year-old Artsplace gelding earned his second win of the year.
Go Badlands Go (Morgan) won the fastest race of the night for owner Arty Foster with a 1:55.4 triumph in the eighth race. It was one of three wins on the card for Morgan.
Drivers Tim Tetrick and Jim King, Jr. each had a double.
Racing will continue on a Sunday thru Thursday schedule through June 28. Post time is 5:30 p.m.
