Meet leading driver Jim Morand took no prisoners last time out, moving Niss Allen Inc.’s Ann Other Porsche into the lead at the start and never looked back on the way to the winner’s circle for the first time in 2004. Wendy Crissman and 49 Racing Stable’s Crossfire N, driven by Mike Cole, was a head back in second while Travis Bowman stormed down the stretch with Rain Dance Kim to finish third, beaten a length. As usual, Florence Nitkowski’s Cams Little Imp N with Ross Wolfenden were a close up contender, finishing fourth, one and a quarter lengths back.

Bettyjane Corey’s Love That Hall, piloted by George Dennis from the rail, Wilson and trainer Jeff Clark’s Rondel Franco N, coupled with Brad Hanners, and Brooks Stables’ Hasty Dewar, handled by Kevin Sizer, are the other starters.

The secondary feature is an $11,500 distaff pace. Last start, Betty Long’s Bellys Up (Brad Hanners) used the passing lane to beat Whodathunkit Stable’s Don’t Curse Me (Cliff Green) with Theatrical Hanover (George Dennis) finishing third.

All three return to meet William Moffett Inc.’s Nuclear Power (Jim King), dropping down from the Open ranks. Akowskey, Ehrhart, Korn and Kross’ classy Time Frame N (Eddie Davis) leaves from the rail with Wayne Pryor and Doc & Me Inc.’s Tuahiwi Trick N (Ross Wolfenden), alongside. Clair Corle and driver Roger Hammer’s My Gal Phyl and Ken Conover and Al Stafford’s Dontsweatthefuture, reined by Eddie Dennis, complete the lineup.

Eight start in the day’s top trot vying for a $10,000 purse. Bill Emmons took the ultra consistent GTO out of the claimers after winning two in a row to meet Massina Stables Ltd. and trainer-driver Mark Lancaster’s Private Pennant, Will Kirkwood’s fast homebred Clayton Delaney (Eddie Davis), Underewood, Buell and Carlo’s TC Express (Kevin Sizer) and Cantwell Bridge Stable’s tough Primo Rager (Brad Hanners). Bob Harper and Bill Vandervort’s Ringside Leah (Leah Vandervort) and Charles Williams’ recent acquisition Linbo (Wayne Truitt) are the other contestants.

Monday through Thursday post time at Dover Downs is 4:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday racing starts at 5:30 p.m. No racing on Friday. There is no charge for parking or admission. Reservations are suggested for the Winner’s Circle Restaurant — (302) 674-4600.
