Anvil Raider N becomes winningest horse of 2013

Northfield, OH — Anvil Raider N became the winningest horse in North America this year when he crossed the finish line in 1:57.1 in winning the ninth race on Saturday (Dec. 21) at Northfield Park.

The win was the 22nd time that Anvil Raider N has been triumphant in 2013, one more than 8-year-old pacing mare Tracys Song.

Anvil Raider N (#2) was a nose winner over Columbia Art on Saturday.

Despite leading the continent in wins, this year will mark the final racing season for Anvil Raider N. The 14-year-old faces mandatory retirement on Dec. 31 per the rules of the United States Trotting Association.

Anvil Raider N (In The Pocket-Motu Sweet) is owned and trained by Will Johnson of Monroe, Mich. Ronnie Wrenn, Jr. was in the sulky for the winning drive.

Anvil Raider N has 94 career victories and has earned a bankroll of $339,412 with a lifetime mark of 1:51 set as an 8-year-old at Mohawk Racetrack.
