Armbro Dancer was victorious in the $60,000 Allerage Farms Mares Open Pace in a lifetime best 1:48.4.

Ron Pierce was in the bike for trainer Jimmy Takter as the 4-year-old Blissfull Hall mare held off a stubborn Ideal Weather in the stretch to post a lifetime best 1:48.4 triumph. The victory was the fifth in 14 season’s starts for Armbro Dancer, who lifted her 2007 earnings to $298,870.

Armbro Dancer got away fourth in this compact five-horse field as Ideal Weather took the field past the opening quarter in :26.3. Pierce brushed Armbro Dancer to the lead down the backstretch and they cut middle fractions of :53.4 and 1:22.1.

Turning for home, Armbro Dancer began to drift off the rail and Ideal Weather tried to get by on the inside, but Armbro Dancer stayed game and held on for the win. Marnie Hall (Daniel Dube) finished third, Molly Darling N (David Miller) was fourth and Sing From Nana (John Campbell) picked up the final check.
