Robin Breasure’s Art Burn, with Hal Belote, have been making statements in races for younger horses this meet. The Artiscape four-year-old gelding has won two straight and three of four races impressively, including a 1:533 decision last week.

Wright Pratt’s Lavros Orphan N raced outside most of the mile last week and finished third with Bret Brittingham in the bike. Vernon and Jana Hood’s HD’s Warrior also had a tough trip last time with Brad Hanners driving.

Henry Faragalli, Jr. and III, Jay Bauman and trainer Del Cote’s Direct Flight, reined by Jim Morand, Mike Horsey’s The T Man with Billy Mann driving, and Dale Wooten’s Ace Of Arts, piloted by Ross Wolfenden, a winner of two of his last three starts, are the sharpest of the contenders.

Jeff Fuller’s Sandy’s Playboy, with Hal Belote, Tux, owned by Don Irving and Sam McMichael, handled by Tim Curtin, Kurahaupochancelor, driven by Vic Kirby and Vern and Jana Hood’s JD’s Warrior and Brad Hanners are the other starters.

A hard-hitting band of fast pacers meet in a $14,400 Delaware pace, the co-featured race. Mitch and Pearl Fisher’s Fishin Luck (Art Stafford, Jr.) was a strong second in his seasonal debut last week. John Frazer’s Atenothnbutdscootr (Jim King) appears to be rounding into top form while Ruth Devenney, Jonas White and Harness The Power’s Rapid Jate (Brad Hanners), who cut out a fast pace last Monday only to tire in late stretch, must overcome post eight.

John Veazey’s Secret Harbor (Travis Bowman) drew the rail with Goin About It (Eddie Davis, Jr.) alongside. HBF’s Storm (Rick Still), owned by Wayne Pryor and Doc & Me Inc., Frank Rende’s Just Like Sam (George Dennis) and Crissman Inc. and WJ McDougall Racing’s Ronnie Mac A (Mike Cole) complete the field.

Saturday and Sunday racing at Dover begins at 5:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday action starts at 4:30 p.m. No live racing on Friday. There is no charge for admission or parking. Reservations are suggested for the Winner’s Circle Restaurant. Call (302) 674-4600, ext. 3773.
