Ft. Washington, MD — After winning several starts in the top level pace for fillies and mares at Rosecroft Raceway, Art’s Pretty Lady will attempt to extend her streak to six consecutive victories. The 5-year-old Arturo mare will open on the board at 9-5 odds this Friday (April 4) in the $6,000 distaff Open Pace.

Trained by Connie Kamit for owners Susan Chytla and Nicholas Kamit, Jr., the mare has been consistently improving in each of her starts. Last time out, Art’s Pretty Lady paced wire-to-wire in 1:54 with a closing quarter of :28. Regular reinsman Frank Milby will be aboard for the drive in post position five.

Lofty Widget is also a strong contender at 2-1 early odds from post position six. Trained by Greg Trotto, the 5-year-old Pacific Fella mare showed success at The Meadowlands over the past few months. Driver Jonathan Roberts will make his 2008 Rosecroft debut this Friday, and will drive Lofty Widget for the VIP Internet Stable LLC, Trotto and Sporrer.

From the rail, Gen-U-Wine Raider is set at 4-1 morning line odds after winning in this class last week. Trained by Thomas Swann for owners Julie and Lois Swann, the 7-year-old Keystone Raider mare paced in 1:54.3 last time out for a win by a half-length. Kelly Staten will drive the mare once again.

Funny Lil Grin (Wayne Long, 6-1), High Speed Racer (Donnie Russell, 6-1) and Sky Queen (John Wagner, 10-1) complete the lineup.

Post time for Friday’s 12-race card is 6:30 p.m.
