At A Glance: The Progress Pace

Freehold, NJ — Multiple stakes-winner Vintage Master and Breeders Crown runner-up Mr Wiggles headline Sunday’s $350,000 Progress Pace at Dover Downs in Delaware.

Vintage Master has won six of 21 races this year and earned $1.3 million. His victories include the $325,000 Cane Pace (which is the first jewel in the Pacing Triple Crown), the $677,665 Delvin Miller Adios and divisions of the Tattersalls and Bluegrass stakes. He is trained by Jimmy Takter and driven regularly by Daniel Dube.

The Takter Stable is enjoying its most lucrative year in history. So far, horses trained by Takter this year have earned $6.01 million, which is good for third place among all trainers in North America, while his earnings per start rank second.

Mr Wiggles won the $500,000 Hoosier Cup and was second in the $600,000 Breeders Crown and Adios. In April, he won the $100,000 Delaware Standardbred Breeders Fund final. He is trained by George Teague Jr. and driven by Corey Callahan. Teague won the 2006 Progress Pace with Total Truth.
